Üpoaw

Üpoaw are a large, feline-like species that come in a range of reds, oranges, browns, yellows, cream, and green. They have panthera-like faces and gorgeous long manes. Most Üpoaw have manes, though the Type-C sex can have a sparse-to-none mane. The most notable trait of the Üpoaw are their long necks, around 3ft and 4in on the average. That’s like three rulers. From foot-to-collarbone, they average around 6ft 4in. From foot to head, they average around 9ft 8in tall. The lifespan of an Üpoaw is around 140 years, with the average being around 135-155. The longest living Üpoaw in recorded Aubta history lived to be 188. They have sleek body hair. The only fluffy hair they possess are their lion-like manes.

Bipedal Or Quadrupedal?

Üpoaw are facultative quadrupeds, meaning they are bipeds that will occasionally or regularly switch to walking/running on all fours with ease. It's unclear what advantage this gives them, as their closest known ancestors were completely quadrupedal.

3 Sexes

There are 3 sexes of Üpoaw, each with specific physical traits.

Type-A (uho/uhozh) have long manes that go from their head to their belly/back.

Type-B (uha/uhazh) has a mane that goes from the head to the chest.

Type-C (uhu/uhuzh) has a thin mane that is only on their head. Type-C can have extremely thin manes that are practically non-existent.

All three sexes have a pseudo-penis to varying lengths. This means all Üpoaw have large clitorises and vaginas, so they can all get pregnant. However, they also all possess testes, so they can all get each other pregnant. They are penetrated through their pseudo-penis with another Üpoaw's pseudo-penis. Speaking in Earth's scientific terms, Üpoaw are simultaneous hermaphrodites.

The difference between the genitalia of the sexes are basically size. Type-C looks more like a enlargened clitoris while Type-A looks like a penis. Whoever gets pregnant was largely left up to horomone levels until recent years, so there is little to no stigma surrounding which sex type gets pregnant.

Birth rates are low and the survival rate of infants are even lower. They are REALLY bad at reproducing which is why they do not go through menopause until they are in their 120s, making them menopausic or post-reproductive. They are extremely K-Selected, with some Üpoaw try their entire life to have a child and fail due to poor fertility, high infant mortality rates, or birthing complications resulting in death of the parent. Giving birth is strenuous, painful, and deadly. Poor fertility is common in Üpoaw.
